A/N: Here we go again! I am so thrilled with all the lovely reviews I've had for this story, even though it's been almost a year now since I first started writing it. Thankyou so much, wonderful readers; I am really grateful for your support and for your patience. Once more I must say a huge thankyou to the fantastic [livejournal.com profile] flecalicious for her beta-reading and for sticking by my side and also to [livejournal.com profile] frayer for all the medical advice she has given me. You girls are great. Now, I actually have to go and do some actual Uni-work...

A/N: Happy New Year! (IstartedwritingthisbackinMAYwhysoslow???) Basking in the afterglow of last night’s fantastic second series debut, I thought it was time I posted this. My Sherlock fandom bug is well and truly back in the building. Massive thanks once again go to [livejournal.com profile] flecalicious and [livejournal.com profile] frayer for all their advice and help - and to you, the readers, for your support despite the sheer slowness of this. Thankyou, all of you. Anyway, here we go…

A/N: I know this has been a long time coming – Things Happened in my life, plus this chapter was surprisingly difficult for me to write. As ever, I owe a bucketful of thanks to both [livejournal.com profile] flecalicious for being an absolutely fantastic, supportive and patient beta-reader and to [livejournal.com profile] frayer for the meticulously detailed information regarding the ins and outs of a medical degree and for answering my questions. Honestly, I could not have asked for a better support base; thankyou so much to you both. And thankyou to all the lovely readers who have already shown their support for this story, and for Joan. It means the world, as always.

A/N: I had this idea a while back, in the middle of all my workings with my female-John, and wrote the beginnings of it whilst I was in America and then it just exploded, typically. Progress has been extremely slow on my part, as the ever patient [livejournal.com profile] flecalicious will tell you; thankyou so much for the beta-ing, my love! Your appreciated support and discussion of ideas not only made a potentially-boring holiday in France worthwhile, but it also really helped the story grow, and I loved every second of our correspondence. Additionally, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] frayer for the early tips offered that helped me to shape the story. Hopefully, I got this right. Feedback, as ever, is appreciated.
